John N Dunn Group is a long-established, family-owned plumbing and heating contractor working in partnership with leading national housebuilders across the UK. We deliver high-quality plumbing and heating installations on large residential developments and are recognised for our reliability, professionalism and long-term client relationships.
Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Surveyor looking to build experience within a supportive, well-structured environment, with genuine progression opportunities.
The Role
Working closely with our Managing Director, Commercial Director, Contracts Managers and Finance team, you will assist in the commercial management of multiple new build housing developments.
Key responsibilities will include:

Assisting with the cost management of live schemes

Preparation of interim monthly valuations

Measuring and pricing variations and sales upgrades

Supporting final account preparation and submission
-
Monitoring project margins and cost reporting

Managing subcontractor accounts and invoice verification
-
Assisting with aged debt management and cash collection
-
Allocating payments
-
Updating pricing matrix for price revisions and specification changes
-
Supporting resolution of contractual queries and claims

Attending site and commercial meetings where required
You will gain exposure to the full commercial lifecycle of projects within a busy, fast-paced new build housing environment.
About You
We are seeking a commercially aware and detail-focused individual who is keen to develop within a subcontractor environment.
Essential:
-
Experience in Quantity Surveying role

New build housing or subcontractor experience (desirable but not essential)

Good understanding of construction contracts and valuations
-
Strong numeracy and analytical skills
-
Excellent Excel skills
-
Organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Confident communicator with a professional approach
Desirable:
-
HNC / HND / Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar
-
Experience within M&E or plumbing & heating
-
Experience dealing with variations and interim applications
